- Includes details on enabling TCP during NFS mounts to prevent delays
- Cluster running Qumulo Core
The use of UDP protocol during NFS mount phase could cause a delay of the mount becoming available as our product does not support the UDP protocol.
This issue can potentially be exacerbated in environments where round-robin DNS is utilized, as sequential mount attempts using UDP fail against each node in the cluster, resulting in a considerable lag until the NFS export finally mounts using TCP.
It is strongly encouraged that the tcp option be added to any NFS mount strings in auto-mounter maps.
/mountpoint -fstype=nfs,nfsvers=3,tcp cluster_name:/path/dir
You should now be able to enforce the TCP during NFS mounts to prevent delays.
