Qumulo on Azure: FAQ

Outlines general information about Qumulo on Azure

What is Qumulo on Azure?

Qumulo on Azure allows you to use the Qumulo file system software on Azure in the cloud. Qumulo on Azure is a fully-managed service, so you do not have to worry about software upgrades, underlying Linux or Kernel management, or responding to infrastructure failure from Azure (e.g., if a page blob or VM fails). We will manage all of these actions for you.

How does Qumulo on Azure differ from Qumulo on-premises and Qumulo in AWS/GCP?

Qumulo on Azure offers all of the core file system and security features offered by our on-premises and AWS/GCP products, but as a fully-managed service so you don't have to worry about underlying infrastructure management. Because Qumulo on Azure is a service, you don't have to worry about the exact virtual machine and disk configuration for getting your required file size and performance level, or maintaining and monitoring your infrastructure—Qumulo takes care of that.

What use cases does Qumulo on Azure address?

Qumulo on Azure is currently best-suited for high performance use cases such as media editing, rendering, artificial intelligence, Data Analysis, Autonomous Cars, etc. In the future, we’ll also add configurations optimized for low performance workloads e.g. Active Archive.

Just pay for what you use and not overpay.
