Outlines how to install a NIC on QC series hardware
REQUIREMENTS
- QC series hardware
- NIC on-site
- Node is powered down and all cables are disconnected from the back
IMPORTANT! Remove any QSFP+ that is installed before removing and installing a NIC in Qumulo hardware
PROCESS
- Loosen the two front thumbscrews and slide the node out from the rack to access top panel
- Loosen the thumbscrew on the back of the node securing the top panel
- Slide the top panel towards the back of the node and lift to remove
QC 1U Hardware
- Lift the black baffle to access the NICS
- Press the latch on the back of the node down to unlock the PCI riser
- Lift straight up on the metal divider to remove the PCI Riser from the motherboard
- Remove the failed NIC
- Slide the new NIC into place on the PCI Riser
- Lower the PCI Riser straight down into place
- Push the lever on the back of the node up into a locked position to secure
QC 4U Hardware
- Remove the screw securing the NIC
- Lift the NIC straight up to disconnect from the motherboard
- Slide the new NIC into place on the motherboard and install the screw to secure
Once the NIC replacement is complete, lower the black baffle into place, position the top panel on the node and tighten the thumbscrew on the back of the node.
RESOLUTION
You should now be able to successfully install a NIC on QC series hardware
