Qumulo K-Series NIC Field Replacement Unit

Outlines how to install a NIC on Qumulo K-series platforms

REQUIREMENTS

  • Qumulo K-series 144T or 168T hardware
  • NIC on-site

PROCESS

  • Power down the node and disconnect cabling

  • Loosen the two black thumbscrews on the front of the node and remove the node from the rack
  • Press the blue button and slide the top panel towards the back of the node to remove

  • Remove the two screws securing the shield covering the NIC

  • Lift the shield containing the SAS controller away from the NIC and set aside with cabling still attached

  • Remove the two screws securing the NIC

  • Lift the failed NIC straight up and away from the board
  • Align the holes on the new NIC with the pegs and press down into place

  • Re-install the two screws to secure the NIC to the board
  • Align the shield containing the SAS controller over the NIC and re-install the two screws to secure

  • Position the top panel and slide towards the front of the node ensuring the peg underneath is aligned with the opening on the enclosure

Once the NIC replacement is complete, install the node back into the rack, tighten the two black thumbscrews, reconnect all cabling and power on the node.

RESOLUTION

You should now be able to successfully install a NIC on Qumulo K-series 1U platforms
