API fs_read_dir permissions

Hi,

I'm trying to script with qq to get a summary of disk usage by top level directories.

I'm running as a local user with local group "guest" access, but fs_read_dir of / fails due to "access denied".

[rstanonik@sandcrab2 qumulo_api]$ ./qq --host lib-staging login -u dashboard
Password:
[rstanonik@sandcrab2 qumulo_api]$ ./qq --host lib-staging fs_read_dir --path /
Error 403: fs_access_denied_error: requested=FS_ACCESS_READ, rights=FS_ACCESS_POSIX_WRITE_DIR,FS_ACCESS_POSIX_DEFAULT,FS_ACCESS_READ_EA,FS_ACCESS_READ_ACL,FS_ACCESS_DELETE,FS_ACCESS_EXECUTE

The local user can use fs_read_dir to query subdirectories.

The only other local group seems to be "user", which I assume has write access, which I want to avoid, but I need to enumerate the top level directories.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Ron

    Hi Ron,

Thank you for your time today on our screen share session.  Just to recap our call and share with the community, as long as the Qumulo User has read access to the directory structure, they will be able to leverage the command line qq fs_read_dir --path / or the API call for /v1/files/%2F/aggregates/
