  • Place the top panel back on the node and tighten the rear thumb screw

Once the fan replacement is complete, install the node back into the rack, tighten the two front thumbscrews, reconnect all cabling, and power on the node. Lastly, SSH to the node and run the following command to verify that the system fan you replaced is “ok” via the output:

System Fan 2 | 7644.000 | RPM | ok | na | 294.000 | 392.000 | na | na | na
System Fan 3 | 7644.000 | RPM | ok | na | 294.000 | 392.000 | na | na | na
System Fan 5 | 5096.000 | RPM | ok | na | 294.000 | 392.000 | na | na | na
System Fan 6 | 4998.000 | RPM | ok | na | 294.000 | 392.000 | na | na | na

NOTE: The QC Series 4U platform has two additional fans in the back of the chassis that require a different replacement procedure if either fan fails. For additional FRU details, reach out to Qumulo Care for more info.
